Alright everybody, in this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the fundamentals of creating a MailChimp account, setting up forms, and crafting an effective autoresponder series. By now, you should have a list created, forms on your website, and perhaps you're drafting or building your autoresponder series. Generally speaking, your autoresponder series should include educational emails, gradually working towards an upsell. If you have a product, you can promote it. Alternatively, you can engage in affiliate marketing by promoting someone else's product.
Crafting an Effective Autoresponder Series
In my particular email course, I offer a basic course consisting of six emails. Throughout the course, I engage in passive marketing for my Udemy course, "How to Create a Website." The last email in the series is a promotional email, providing a final push. After this quick funnel, I mix in various educational and promotional emails. This approach helps build a funnel that, even if it doesn't convert much initially, will grow in effectiveness as your business expands and attracts more traffic.
Maximizing Your Funnel's Potential
One of the biggest challenges many face is not having enough people going through their funnel. In the beginning, when you're not making enough money, repurposing your content can be a strategic move. Repurposing involves taking your blog posts and other web content and incorporating them into emails. Many overlook this strategy, but subscribers appreciate valuable content, which helps establish trust and subtly promotes your products.
Repurposing Content: A Practical Example
Let me share a perfect example of content repurposing. I created a blog post titled "Top 10 Free Web Development Courses on Udemy." This post showcases top courses, with links pointing to Udemy's affiliate program. When subscribers see this email, they perceive it as valuable content, not realizing the behind-the-scenes marketing. Although free courses don't convert significantly, they occasionally lead to commissions. It's a great way to earn extra income while providing value.
Incorporating Content into Your Autoresponder
To incorporate content, I simply took my blog post and crafted an email saying, "Hey, I want to share this post with you. It's about the top 10 free web development courses." I included a link to the post and added a closing blurb. This email was added to my follow-up series, ensuring continuous promotion. Over time, this strategy can drive significant traffic to your blog and social platforms, fostering growth.
Leveraging Email Marketing for Business Growth
Email marketing is crucial for business growth. It's said that the average return on investment for an email subscriber ranges from 100% to 1000% of the acquisition cost. This is because email marketing allows for constant promotion, establishing trust, and generating passive income through affiliate links or direct sales.
Creating a Content-Driven Email Strategy
Whenever you create content—be it blog posts, YouTube videos, or any online content—consider adding it to your follow-up series. Set a schedule to send these emails every two or three days. Ensure that the content aligns with your niche to avoid unsubscribes. For instance, if your email list is about web development, stick to related topics.
Boosting Blog Traffic Through Email Marketing
Bloggers often face challenges in gaining traction and readership. However, having an email list to drive traffic to your blog can be a game-changer. By directing your email subscribers to your posts, you'll see a substantial increase in views and engagement.
Conclusion: The Power of Content Repurposing
Repurposing content is a powerful strategy to maximize the potential of your email marketing efforts. By incorporating blog posts, videos, and other content into your autoresponder series, you can significantly increase your audience reach and business growth. If you have any questions about content repurposing or email strategy, feel free to ask. Once you grasp this concept, you're ready to move on to the next stage of your course. Thank you for reading!
