When I finally plugged in my dad’s hard drives and started exploring, I didn’t know what to expect. What I found was decades’ worth of online business courses from some of the biggest names in the industry.
It wasn’t just a few files or lessons—it was a digital library that he'd probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on over the years. To him, these courses were a roadmap to financial independence, a belief he held onto until the end. Now, it’s up to me to make sense of it all.
What I Found
As I dug through the drives, I began to piece together the scope of what he’d saved:
- Business Models: Courses on affiliate marketing, print on demand, freelancing, and more.
- Skill-Building: Deep dives into email marketing, SEO, Facebook ads, and copywriting.
- Tools and Platforms: Tutorials for Canva, MailChimp, Shopify, WordPress, and countless other platforms.
- Personal Development: Lessons on productivity, time management, and building resilience.
- Mindset & Motivation: Motivational talks, success stories, and strategies to stay focused and driven.
Each file represents a piece of knowledge my dad believed in. Together, they feel like a treasure chest waiting to be unlocked.
My Reaction
Opening the hard drives was overwhelming. It was like finding a massive library with no catalog—just shelves packed with books, some familiar, others completely foreign.
- Excitement: The potential is enormous. There’s so much value here, and I can’t wait to dive in.
- Overwhelm: Where do I even begin? Thousands of files, notes, and courses—it’s a lot.
- Gratitude: Knowing how much thought my dad put into saving these for me makes it all feel deeply personal.
It’s exciting but also a little daunting—like finding a map to buried treasure but not knowing where the starting point is.
The Challenge Ahead
Organizing this library and figuring out what to tackle first feels like a project in itself. There’s so much potential, but turning it into something actionable is going to take time, effort, and a lot of trial and error.
The first step? Sorting through everything. Right now, it’s a chaotic mix of folders, subfolders, and files that need to be categorized. From there, I’ll prioritize what to focus on—starting with the areas I feel most confident I can apply and share with you.
What’s Next
In my next post, I’ll share how I’m organizing and prioritizing this massive collection. It’s a work in progress, but I’m finding ways to make sense of it all.
This is just the beginning of uncovering the value inside these drives—and I’m so glad you’re here to follow along. Together, we’ll see how far this treasure trove can take me.
